TEDxUniversityofZagreb made a Switch in our lives

The fifth TEDxUniversityofZagreb was held at June 3rd 2017 at the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb, Blagoje Bersa concert hall. The topic was Switch – a turnover that changes and improves our lives. The key speakers were talking about their switches that they have experienced in their private or business lives, switches in science or some other industry.

There were 9 speakers at the conference: Daniel Ackermann, Iva Silla, Ivan Miličević, Josipa Bosak, Luka Ciganek, Marita Bonačić, Pamela Konjevod, Tea Zavacki and Tina Odinsky Zec. The speakers are experts in various fields. Everyone in the audience could have heard something about a field they are interested in.

Each of the speakers started in his/her own way, but life took switched them to another one. Everyone had their own motive, their guiding principle (a geek, hunter or a farmer, childhood story or childhood period, enthusiasm etc.) which they used to share their message, life story that switched their lives and lead them to the life they lead today. Through their stories they wanted to start a switch in the lives of the audience, giving advices, sharing their highs and lows to motivate and inspire everyone at the concert hall. Daniel Ackermann said: “After every failure you will come up with 5 new ideas!”, while Marita Bonačić highlighted: “To come to Wonderland, Alice first had to fall down”.
Participants enjoyed the inspirational speeches, pleasant companionship and music. The Trio of Zagreb Philharmonic has honored us with their performance, as well as Ines Nožica that sang while being accompanied by Tomislav Bredvić on the piano.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
